Architects in Sant Cugat · Vallès
In Sant Cugat we designed two semi-detached houses that read as one and the extension of a home towards its garden. In La Garriga, the renovation of a terraced house. Vallès means houses with a plot, a garden and southern light.
Houses in Vallès
Vallès is the land of the detached house with a plot: garden, pool, south-facing orientation and Collserola in the background. Here projects are decided on site, looking at how the light comes in, where the views are and how the house relates to its neighbours.
From our studio in Barcelona we reach Sant Cugat in less than half an hour, so we follow the construction closely.
Our work in Sant Cugat · Vallès
- AR07 · Two houses, one atmosphere. Two new-build semi-detached homes in Sant Cugat del Vallès that read as a single volume, with a timber-slatted façade and the pool as their only shared element.
- BO24 · A house that extends. Extension of an existing home in Sant Cugat: basement garage, a living room under a large circular skylight, two suites and an outdoor kitchen under a timber pergola that acts as an intermediate space between the original house and the new one.
- VI02 · A terraced house in La Garriga. Full renovation of a three-level house in Vallès Oriental, where the central staircase becomes an open-air courtyard that brings light and air to the whole house.
What we do in Vallès
- New build: detached or semi-detached houses, shaped by the topography and the orientation of the plot.
- Extensions: growing an existing house without breaking its proportions or its relationship with the garden.
- Full renovations: houses from the seventies, eighties and nineties that need a new layout, insulation and new services.
- Site supervision: following the construction, cost control and coordination with the builder.
Before you buy a plot
In Sant Cugat and in most towns of Vallès Occidental, the metropolitan master plan applies, with each town’s own amendments. Every plot has a zoning classification that sets what can be built: buildable area, site coverage, height, number of storeys and setbacks. You can check it on the Mapa urbanístic de Catalunya, but the detailed reading (and what really fits on your plot) is best done with an architect before you sign.
The slope of the land, the existing trees, vehicle access and utility connections also count. All of that changes the cost of the house as much as the square metres. If you are thinking of buying, read how to build a house in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
From permit to habitability certificate
A new-build house in Catalunya needs a basic design to apply for the permit, a construction design to build and, at the end, the completion certificate and the first-occupation habitability certificate. We draft the design, file it with the City Council and supervise the construction until handover.
How we start
The first visit is free. We come to the plot or to your house, listen to what you want to do and tell you what is possible.

Questions about Sant Cugat · Vallès
How long does it take to get a permit for a house in Sant Cugat?
It depends on the scope of the project and on the City Council’s workload at the time. In the preliminary study we give you a realistic phased schedule that includes drafting the design, processing the permit and the construction.
What should I check before buying a plot in Vallès?
The plot’s zoning, the maximum buildable area and site coverage, the setbacks from boundaries, the permitted height, the topography and the orientation. We help you read all of that before you sign the purchase.
Do you extend existing houses?
Yes. In Sant Cugat we extended a home with a basement garage, a living room under a circular skylight and an outdoor kitchen facing the pool (BO24). A well-planned extension grows without breaking the house that is already there.
Do you work in other towns in Vallès?
Yes. As well as Sant Cugat, we have work in La Garriga, in Vallès Oriental. If your house is in another town in the area, tell us.
